SONGKRAN--WATER BLESSINGS

SongKran is a Thai Festival that is held in April.
It began by pouring a little water on someone as a blessing. In Thai Class, the First Grade Students with the help of the Thai teacher made a perfumed water that was used by the students to "pour a blessing on the hands of their teachers". It was a great way for the students to honor Miss T. and Miss Bridges.

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!

SERVING AT THE AGAPE HOME

Aubrey and Kelli went to the Agape Home to help take care of babies. Kelli was so excited to get to hold a baby that was only 24 days old! Most of the kids at this orphanage have AIDS.

SYDNEY READS HER FIRST THAI WORD

This two letter word is YAA and it means medicine.
The first letter (that looks like a cursive E) is pronounced yuh and the second letter (that looks like a candy cane) is the long vowel for a and is pronounced aah. So Yaa. We had seen these signs all over and it was so exciting when I finally sounded it out and Read it!! There are only 74 more letters to learn!!
