MONDAY--WEAR YOUR YELLOW SHIRT

Each day has been assigned a significant color. Monday is yellow, so because the King was born on Monday, people here honor him by wearing a yellow shirt. Russ planted some yellow roses for Sydney (they're her favorite) this weekend.

GOING TO THE ZOO, ZOO, ZOO

Kelli went with the 2nd grade classes on a field trip to the zoo. She volunteers at an International School here on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. She loves working with the kids and helping the teachers.

NOW IT'S TIME FOR THAI DESSERTS

I was trying to explain the different seasons to the Ladies by using my Gooseberry Patch Books. I was showing them a picture of an orange pumpkin. Here the pumpkins are green and look like squash.

One of the ladies brought these beautiful Thai desserts to share with us.

They are so beautiful and most of them are like a gelatin or jelly consistency. They have flavors of coconut, green tea, rice, rose, lime and egg. They are slightly sweet. The Korean girls loved them!! There were a few of them that I really enjoyed, very tasty.

COOKING WITH SYDNEY

Sydney has been helping four Korean Ladies and one Thai Muslim Lady with their English conversation skills. The Ladies said they would like to learn to cook American food, and they decided Lasagne would be the first thing they wanted to cook. So we baked Lasagne. We had to use our oven because the Korean ladies don't have ovens. In Korea, everything is cooked on top of the stove. We baked chocolate chip cookies and one of the ladies decided to try it at home. She baked the cookies in the microwave and she said they kept burning. She had to adjust the power and time to bake the cookies. She sold them at her kids school bake sale. Her daughter said they were delicious!!

HAPPY FALL YA'LL!!

One of our favorite seasons is here, Fall. Not that you could tell by being in SEA. However we have seen a few trees with falling orange and red leaves. This is our bear that Maureen finished for us and brought to us this summer, dressed in it's Pumpkin Outfit!

Successful trip NEXT DOOR

I just returned from a very successful "business" trip to Bu-m- , along with 2 of my business partners. Though it ended abruptly, due to the demonstrations in Y-ng-n (as I'm sure you've seen on the news), the rest of the trip was a huge success in regards to networking with the local business leaders there.

Here are a few pictorial highlights:

Transportation was a little cramped.
That's me on the back - Kidding.

Food was a little basic, but healthy.

Housing was a little plain

Look at those foreigners, Martha !

What did you say to watch out for ?

That's why we're here !!

And this !

Training on coffee tree care in a village

Only 2 more hours to go !

Hey, weren't there 3 of us ?

Children's Church - South Asia style. 12 spies went to spy on Canaan...

Just hanging with the Head Monk of the village. Note the "books" we brought him.

Good business discussions with the local business Leaders.

Every body's got a Water Buffalo

Made it to the top.
The view & the people were worth the several hour hike !
