I knew it would not be long before there was a four legged animal of some sort in the house, glad to know you are weighing your options. My input, keep both. "Gary" is the best exterminator I can think of, as long as the dog doesn't mind.
Do we know the "make" of the long thing? Is it poisonous? Better yet, did the shovel come out?

I looked up snakes of Thailand and found a banded krait, a highly venomous snake. This sure looks like it! Wow!!!
