After our trip to the market, our teacher Khruu Too, cooked us a Thai meal. It is called phatsii'iw (which translated means fried with soy sauce) She kept asking us if we had any soy sauce, and when we showed her our bottle of Kikkoman-she laughed and said that's not soy sauce. I had baked a chocolate chip cake and offered her a piece of it. When I asked if it was too sweet for her, she said, "oh, no I like chocolate". No wonder we get along so well!!
